Itinerary : Fes desert tour 2 Days to Merzouga

Day 1: Fes - Ifrane - Midelt - Gorges Ziz - Erfoud - Rissani - Merzouga

At 7:00 a.m., your driver will take you up from your Riad or hotel. The trek will thereafter take seven hours as it crosses the Middle Atlas Mountains. Drive through the cedar woods of Ifrane (Morocco’s Switzerland), Azrou, Midelt, and the Ziz Gorges before reaching the Sahara and Erg Chebbi dunes. After relaxing in Merzouga, you’ll head to the camels waiting to take us on an excursion in the sand dunes. You’ll also go to a high dune to see the sunset and spend the night in nomadic tents before sleeping in a camp with drum music in the midst of the Sahara.

DAY 2: Merzouga - Midelt - Ifrane - Fes

We’ll get up early to take in the breathtaking sunrise over the sand dunes before riding camels back to the hotel. We will proceed to Fes after having breakfast and cooling off. As we leave the desert and go towards Fez, we will pass through the Ziz Valley and the Middle Atlas Mountains. Also, when we walk through Azrou’s cedar woods, we will stop to feed the monkeys. Finally, we arrive in Fez early in the afternoon and leave you off to your Riad.
