Day 1: Fes - Ifrane - Midelt - Gorges Ziz - Erfoud - Rissani - Merzouga

At 7:00 a.m., your driver will pick you up from your Riad or hotel. The trek will thereafter take seven hours as it crosses the Middle Atlas Mountains. Drive through the cedar woods of Ifrane (Morocco’s Switzerland), Azrou, Midelt, and the Ziz Gorges before reaching the Sahara and Erg Chebbi dunes. After relaxing in Merzouga, you’ll head to the camels waiting to take you on an excursion in the dunes. You’ll also go to a high dune to see the sunset and spend the night in nomadic tents before sleeping in a camp with drum music amid the Sahara.
