DAY 1: MARRAKECH – HIGH ATLAS – OUARZAZATE – ZAGORA
The 2 Days desert tour from Marrakech to Zagora begins at your hotel or riad. After breakfast, you will be picked up by the crew of “Top Morocco Tour Company”. Depart from Marrakech and travel across the High Atlas to the 2260-meter-high port of Tizi N Tichka. pauses to see the spectacular views of the High Atlas. From there, we will go to OUARZAZATE, often known as the “gateway to the desert,” where several international films such as “Asterix and Obelix,” “Lawrence of Arabia,” “Gladiator,” and others were filmed.
Having lunch while admiring the panoramic view of Taourirt Kasbah (OUARZAZATE’s historic center). The Draa Valley, Morocco’s biggest valley, sits between the Anti-Atlas and our next destination. After arriving at ZAGORA in the late afternoon, we swap from 4x4s to camels and ride them for one and a half hours to our tent.
Dinner and sleep in traditional desert nomad tents (a beautiful night with drum music beneath the stars).
DAY 2: ZAGORA – AGDEZ – AIT BEN HADDOU – MARRAKECH
We wake up early before breakfast to see the sunrise on the nearest dune to the tent. Free time to enjoy the stillness and take stunning photographs, followed by a great brunch.
We board the Jeep 44 again to visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, an 11th-century fortification and World Heritage Site.
The Anti-Atlas mountains may be accessed via Tizi-NTinifift’s port. We’ll go to the well-known town of “Ait Ben Haddou” at 12 p.m., spend some free time seeing the Kasbah and eating lunch, and then return to Marrakech in the late afternoon. We will arrive in Marrakech, Morocco, after 18 hours of trip over the High Atlas Mountains, and bring you to your hotel or riad.
